Default Costalunga rate

I got a rate of $30 per night for more than 3 week stay. Are they guest friendly?

Yes they are very friendly to the guests. (and they allow overnight visitors as long as they have a cedula).

It is a very comfortable hotel, located about 4 blocks (up a hill) from the beach. They have 24-hours power, good consistent air-conditioners, pool, and a free wall-safe in the room.

very good choice! mario is an excellent host...and indeed very friendly. Miguel (his assistant) is also really cool if he is still there.

Not only will you get AC but also a kitchenette...so what money you might have saved somewhere else for say 25...you will make up if you do some light cooking at home.

and if you are on a budget...dont forget about the chinese place that sells fried chicken with tostones for 50 pesos on duarte!

Make your own breakfast tho...thats one thing that everyone seems to overcharge you for. OH...and bring your own small coffee maker!

heh...i got budget down to a science !

Default Costalunga

I stayed there this february and was very pleased. Spacious mature tropical garden around the pool. Surprisingly quiet. Unlike the AI's I've been to in the DR which have a key card system preventing the AC from staying on when you were out of the room, the AC was under your control. I'm not an advocate of wasting power but I still like the option sometimes.

Security seemed good. Internet access computers are new, fast and cheap. In general, the place is nicer than it appears from it's web site.
