Place to stay in BC for 1 month
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation of a place to stay in Boca Chica for 4 weeks or longer. I am looking for a 1 room or 1 bedroom location that is not going to break the budget. A pool would be nice, as well as guest friendly.
I got a rate from Hotel Europa, but that is it so far. They want it paid in cash, upfront and are asking for $38 per night. That sounds kind of high for a 1 month stay.
Thanks in advance,
Randy

Hotel Europa is far from where? You might get tired of the noise at Europa. What is your price range? You want to stay close to the beach or a few blocks away?

That is the only quote I have received back so far or as of today. A place a few blocks from the beach is fine and noise would be an issue.
I was looking for something around $500 - $600 for 4 weeks. Is that unreasonable?

Get in touch with El Candil (do a search here for their info). Nice pool (Europa doesn't have one). Haven't stayed under the new ownership (changed earlier this year), but the former owner did have deals for a month. But they have mostly bigger rooms, so price may not be much better.
For a month, I would definitely get a room with a little kitchen. Dont' know what Europa has. El Candil mostly has. Eating out all the time will drive up your daily expense. Most places are overpriced, IMO.
Another idea - Costalunga ---- right around the corner from El Candil. Big, plain pool. Maybe more guest friendly than El Candil.
Have fun!!!!!

Unless you can find someone that has an apartment for rent, it will be difficult to find a hotel with a pool for under $600 for a month. Do you need a place with air conditioning?
You might want to try Playa Vista. They have a room to rent. They don't have a pool, but they are right on the beach.
Email Peter at: playa.vista@verizon.net.do (the address might have changed to playa.vista@codetel.net.do )

it's about 30 steps away from europa.in between europa and casa coco on the east side of the street.pretty quite.carlos is working the store in front.i stayed there for the month for $500us.get the balcony room up top that i stayed in.no problems bringin in chicas.very good security.very nice rooms. cleaned every day.i had the run of the house.no one was there but me.
to bad no one really knows of the place.
hope this helps ya out.
and i seen a sign for furnished apartments on the west end of boca chica.maybe someone got a # for 'em.
also if you know a local you can find a place for $100-300.
i stayed with a friend in boca chica.nice apartment.i just payed her $100 rent for her.but make sure you know your friends well there though.i don't want for anyone to get robbed.
have a great trip.
when you plan on going?
i may be heading back out there in august.

i emailed play vista myself a few weeks ago. seems like the room for rent is being used by a new employee :-( still worth a shot tho.
I'd also try giving costalunga a call. Durring slow season they just might be willing to negotiate something for a month (ask for mario)
the new owner at candil doesnt speak english...but if you speak italian ask for marisa there....again..for a month stay she might work out a deal.
