Default Eating out in Santo Domingo

I will be visiting for one day in Santo Domingo in November, can anyone recommend good restaurants for lunch and dinner, mid-to upper range and pricing in u.s. $$. Staying in an all-exclusive and don't usually bring a lot of $ so want to know what to plan for! Thanks!!

Meson de Bari $60 including a nice tip and a few drinks

Meson de Quintana the $ame $$ and the portions are huge! Also, eat outside in la plaza, it's historical and has a unique "feel".

Outside the Colonial Zone, Puerto Bonito (Italian/Mediterranean) on Ave. 27 de Febrero near the intersection with Churchill is quite elegant and not so expensive. The food is delicious. Over US$100 for a lavish meal for two.

In the Zone - Museo del Jamón (Spanish) on Plaza España is a good bet. Not as expensive as Puerto Bonito.

But if I had to recommend just one, Mesón de Bari (mentioned above) on Calle Hostos in the Colonial Zone, with its typical Dominican cuisine and great atmosphere, has no rival.

There are others - any particular type of food? I was thinking Briciola (Italian, said to be the best in town) or Porterhouse (steaks) or the trendy fusion places in Naco...

There used to be a very nice restaurant in the Hotel Jaragua on the Malecon. They have excellent steaks, lobster, hamburgers and Amercian style breakfasts. It may have changed hands by know - does anybody know?

Jaragua is not a place I would add to my list, unless it's a burger or wings at Champions.
