Default decent hotel in boca chica/juan dolio/ las terrenas/las galeras
new to this thread thing. just wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a safe, reasonably priced place that my boyfriend and i can stay in for a night or 2 in boca chica or juan dolio. we don't need air conditioning or anything special like tv. we are in our 60's and eventually headed to las terrenas or las galeras - would appreciate a rec for either of those places too. anything $40 and up would work. heard from hotel zapata - $70 for a room - is that the going rate these days? thanks so much to you all for the amazing amount of info you share.

Juan Dolio - Villas del Mar. Plaza Real around 50 us$ a night for 1 bed apt. Albatross resort around 55-60us$ a night 1 bed apt or studio. AI hotels more expensive at moment. pm if you need more info

This forum and several guide books helped me find the following hotels we're staying in next week:

Las Terrenas: Hotel Kari Beach
Las Galeras: Casa Lotus
Boca Chica: Hotel Zapata

I think the Zapata at $70 is the most expensive...

In Boca Chica. The Calypso is great only 50 bucks a night. has bar/pool and free wireless!
