Hey,please don't beat me up, need some help, can't get into El Candi because of all the good reviews(probably stayed there last 10 times before and never had problems until now), I cannot decide between Calypso--Hotel Garant--Villa Don, need help DR1 please. Will be there between June 13th--June 17th

I have stayed at Garant for many years. Started back when it was the "Oasis de la Colina" all on one level. I recommend it highly. It is very handy to Calle Duarte and the center of the beach. Fairly quiet if you don't take one of the suites facing the street. The motos can be kind of noisy going up the hill. Decent breakfast available in the morning. My dominican girlfriend sees to it that everyone is appropriately tipped when I check out and as a result they all make me feel welcome and treat me like family. They don't take credit cards.
