Default Juan Dolio Bus

Is it easy enough to get back and forth from Barcelo Capella Resort in Juan Dolio to Santo Domingo by bus? Would it be possible to do it without switching buses and would it be reasonably safe returning to Capella in the evening? Any idea how late the bus to Jaun Dolio/Capella runs?

You can go by motortaxi von Capella Beach Resort to the highway. (400 meters)
Also you can go by food.
Every five minutes, there is a bus.
Until 21.30.
In the night it is safe to go on the motoconcho.
You don't need to change busses.

Capella is a 5 minute walk to the main road where buses stop every couple of minutes. The proce you pay depends on the quality of the bus. 60-80 pesos. They go straight to Santo Domingo, but they may make you change in Boca Chica. If they do that you do not have to pay any more, you just go onto another bus and the conductor hands over your fare. When you come back, get a taxi to 'Metro, Juan Dolio'. When you get on the bus - and it is a bit more expensive coming back - ask them to let you off at Metro Juan Dolio as well. There you can walk a few minutes to Capella or get a motoconcho taxi ( a motor bike). Do not pay the motorbike more than 30 RD$ each. They will try and rip you off!!!

Have fun

Matilda

THis is great info....just to clarify coming from Santo Domingo and going to Capella I should ask the driver to stop at the Metro Juan Dolio? And from there walk to the resort? Are there signs on the road indicating the resort (I ask because last time we drove and got SOOO lost on our way to Talanquera)

OK. Capella is literally straight down the road from Metro Juan Dolio. If you want Talanquera ask the driver to stop there and there is an entrance to Talanquera on the highway too before Metro Juan Dolio
