Watched CNN this morning and they were talking about a woman gang banged by 4 guys, this is news on CNN!!!
Here in the DR the cops don't even make a report even though they went twice to the scene of the crime.
Matilda you said that the cops don't know anything, doesn't that sound strange to you? I'm pretty sure you know the gentleman because he's been in JD for awhile now, pm me for info.
When is convenient the police will acknowledge the crime(s) . Frank, I do not believe it’s beneficial for any official in JD or for any business owner in JD to accept that what you documented is true.

I do know the gentleman and I knew his wife - who I understood was in canada at the moment????

I think is is most unlikely to be the Police involved - in my experience, and according to my sources it is most likely Haitians who rape rather than Dominicans and we have no haitian police in Juan Dolio.

Once again I have heard nothing about this apart from on this site.

Haitian POLICE., what does that have to do with JD? I believe JD iin Dom. Rep. As such I expect that the Police in JD will have this in their sights. For God’s sake this is a v. small village and if the local police with their overly “leisurely attitude” do not address this than we might as well let go of all the post-retiring and vacation plans we all may have! BTW I know JD as a person that has been an investor/owner for 15 years and not an unfortunate soul trying to score.

How awful for that poor woman. No one should ever have to go through that. My heart pours out for her. And also for the man who had to watch the ordeal.

It will take her many years of recovery to try to put this behind her. Are there even resources available around there for her to reach out to?

I think you need to re-read Matilda's post as you obviously didn't understand what she said.

Frank, I think that it may be an overly cavalier to suggest that the police in JD cannot follow-up on a crime committed by any other but Dominicans. I do not know how to react to Matilda’s response – Cry or Laugh or just plain disgust in the DR law enforcing (we only deal with our own kind!!)

my apologies, but how do you interpret Matilda's comment "we have no haitian police in Juan Dolio". Am I to understand that as a British subject committing a crime in SD I was not to touched because there are no bobby's around.

Matilda is a down to earth person and she's speaking from experience and I must admit that I agree with her that it's mostly Haitians who are known to be rapists however the female victim stated that the males, I don't want to call them men, were Dominicans.
Concerning the matter whether the police is involved I only can say that that would be very hard for me to believe, being a crook is something different than a rapist and I don't believe that even the lowest cops would do such a thing but then who am I.
What I do believe though is that the police is not doing enough!
