I didn't know that he had a wife in Canada, besides Matilda mentioning it I just also was told about this by a friend of mine who also knows the gentleman in question. If this is the case then that might be the reason however when he told me about the ordeal he looked sincerely upset about the fact that the police wasn't doing anything.
Now if he really doesn't want to pursuit this I can on the one hand understand why but on the other hand not because the animals have done this once and I reckon that there's a distinct possibility it might happen again and that should be prevented!
Any thoughts are appreciated.

There is rarely any publicity in the national press for crimes in Juan Dolio affecting ex pats. Don't want to upset the odd tourist who might come or reduce the price of real estate!!! However there is a very good on line newssheet which covers San Pedro and Juan Dolio and Guayacanes which reports absolutely everything.

This has to be reported to the Police maybe a more central athority in Santo Domingo. Someone must do something about this. The girl was violently raped by four guys.

I am truly emphatetic to the victims of this horrific crime but to continue this thread especially with this heading serves no purpose to the community of juan dolio. My personal opinion on this incident is that this is a totally isolated incident with absolutely no indication that this is a recurrent crime in the area. We can surmise all day and night as to the reasons to explain this incident , but we may never find out all the facts leading up to this incident {was it a random act, a crime of opportunity, or just an inside job.} but i will say that the victims of this incident have more knowledge about this with absolute certainty. Another assault in juan dolio should be replaced with a crime prevention or community involvement thread to place a more positive aspect to this terrible crime. Stay safe and god bless

I think one thing that bothers me is that none of us would have ever heard this if Frank didn't know the man.....makes one wonder what else has happened in DR that has been kept quiet?
