Perhaps now the south can get the tourism development it's been waiting for.

There is speculation he wants to be the head of the INDETUR, the soon to be created Tourism Development Institute, that could be more powerful than the Ministry regarding developing tourism projects. On the other hand, Jimenez has never hidden he is one of the leading real estate developers in the country, and probably now even in the entire Caribbean.

See http://www.hoy.com.do/el-pais/2008/8...al15-de-agosto

INDETUR would open up new areas such as Miches and Luperon, with the construction of new highways.

They have been seen going out together. Do not know if the relationship continues.

Felucho also has never hidden well his disdain for the DR's existing environmental laws and regulations...

Felix Jimenez was in Constanza on Saturday promoting the new real estate developments that would be possible with the passing of the Indetur in Congress. He took a batallion of journalists to show what would be forthcoming. Proposes to relocate a lovely area of town that has become a slum but could be prime real estate, proposes to repave two accessways (Jarabacoa-Constanza + Constanza-San Jose de Ocoa) that would open up lots of lovely mountain developments.
