Default Barahona, here we come!! Two questions.

1) Is there an American style laundromat in Barahona?

2) We are getting conflicting advice. Is the American dollar used everywhere, or is DR currency more widely used?

Change your money to pesos just dont do it at the airport, probably the worst exchange you could find.

There are several lavanderias, but I'd be surprised if there is a laundromat.

In most places there is a women that does the laundry for you, wash, fold and ready often the same day. Just ask at a store or small bar.....someone will know...

hope you enjoy your trip

Money exchange:
if possible do it in Santo Domingo.
If here in Barahona: Use the Caribe Express office in the main street, comming in to Barahona, right side.
Better rates than Wetern Union.
as usual you find in this country the "streetdealers" who offers money-exchange. Forbidden, but better rates.
I do no tknow anyone in Barahona with this service. Would be great if someone have a guy. I get nuts with the bad rates here.
