Default What Were The Protests About in La Cienaga

I read today that there were protests regarding the removal of squatters from land owned by the Franjul family. Anyone knows more about this?

Default From the great media sources of Barahona...

You pretty much summed up all that was published.

Enfrentamiento a tiros, bombas y piedras en La Cienaga entre Policias y manifestantes : Cuatriboliao.Net

I don't have any inside information.

You know I really don't understand the logic behind these aggressive protests, after all you are being removed from land that is privately owned. Some insist on roaming like native Indians in the old days and squat were ever they see fit. This is nuts. Times have changed.

It's like in Santiago, some knuckleheads broke and removed electrical meters from homes in protest. Now the power company, CDEE, says you broke it, you pay for a new one, AND NOW THE PROTESTERS ARE ANGRY ABOUT THAT TOO!!! HUH?
