nitendo - Nintendo, many times kids and some adults refer to any video game console as a nintendo even if it is an xbox or Playstation. However, some do try to say the names of the other one for example:

Kid: "Ma, yo quiero un nitendo."
Parent: "Ta bien mijo. Orita llamo a tu tio en nueba yoi pa que to lo traiga."
Parent call: "Hola, como etan pa ya."
the Tio: "Bien, con un frio grandisimo."

Parent: "ay ya yay, verda? Yo toy yamando pa sabei quien viene pronto."
the Tio: "fulano va ei vierne, poi que?"

the Tio: "A si, yo se lo mando. Cuai nitendo e que quiere?"
Parent: "Traile el ma barato, sea ebo (xbox) o playtashion (Playstation)"
etc. Sorry it's so long but, it makes my point.
I guess that you did not read the thread carefully. You made your point and it also makes my point that someone would want to make a point and spoil all the fun for everyone.

Default Here is a common one...

When we ask someone: "How are you?" the correct way to say it in spanish is Como tu estas? but us dominicans say:

- Como tu ta?

Default Miguel,"Chill Out"!

This is just the normal "ebb and flow" of any thread here on DR1.It is often a "Stream of Consciousnes" as one idea leads to another!
I could have just "Closed" the entire thread, and said,"Check The Archives",as these "Dominicanisms" have all been posted here 100 times over the last few years! In Fact,"Talldrink" has a very similar thread about 20 down this Forum! CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC

Mr Colon, as stated in the thread, I was refering to words in english that we (dominicans) tend to pronounce the way that it sounds, as in "confle" instead of "corn flakes". The thread was different than the one Talldrink started because her thread was about dominicanisms, as in "pa' onde tu va". If this topic was covered before I came to this site, by all means, close it.

the most famous one is

silebí (see le bEE) = Headlight lamp (Sealed Beam!)

And a common one in sports is:

Tyne, tyne = time, time! (as in time out)
