Default Puertorrican version

cumpleaños feliz
cumpleaños feliz
cumpleaños, (insert name here)
cumpleaños feliz

feliz, feliz en tu dia
amiguito(a), que Dios te bendiga
que reine la paz en tu dia
y que cumplas muchos mas
(assorted cheering goes here)

Goes to the tune of happy birthday. I guess, like everything else here on the Island, this is a translation of the english version. E.

We sing:

Cumpleaños feliz
Te deseamos a ti
Cumpleaños, (insert name here or if name not known repeat "cumpleaños")
Que los cumplas feliz

(And then some bold person may continue and drag the rest along halfheartedly

Que los cumplas feliz
Que los cumplas feliz
Que los cumplas, Que los cumplas
Que los cumplas feliz

Una bullita! Uaaaayy!

What about the one that starts 'Celebro tu cumpleaños'?

What are the words? Is it unique to the DR?

Chiri,

I think it goes like this

"Celebro tu cumpleaño al otro dia salir el sol. Este dia glorioso te deseamos ati. Toma mi abrazo, tu amigo soy. Y mucha felicidad."

I may have missed a few words here and there but it has been a long time since I don't here it. Now a days, Dominicans prefer to sing Happy Birthday, the Dominican style "japi beibi tu yu, japi beiby tu yu.......
