Just to bring to your attention if you want to say "I was born in xxxx lugar":

Nací en Italia.
Nací en Francia.
Nací en Canadá etc.

The combination of "soy nacido/a" I have heard in the US but it is not a standard form. I will investigate further in terms of the usage and how widespread it has become.
