Help with a translation

Hi guys,

I need some help with a word. I'm taking Biology 102 and the professor mention a disease in the lecture called GOUT. I went to freetranslation.com and the translation for it is gota. I'm a little bit confused....At first, when he was describing the symptoms I thought he was talking about an empeine but after going to the translation website I am not sure if this disease is "la gota" or epilepsy.

Correct.
Not many people though would know what you're talking about.
Tell them it is caused by "ácido úrico" (uric acid) in the joints which is very painful.
I should know...
