Default aqui, aca

Can someone explain aqui, aca and alli, alla. Sorry the accent marks arent present. Also I keep hearing palla {pronounced with a j} which I think is short for para alla, meaning over there??

Thanks Steve

Yes para alla is the same as Pa' lla, like in "Voy Pa' lla Voy a Buscar, la mujer que me da mi vida" "india, blanca y morena-aahh"

What is correct and what Dominicans use is two different things and I believe was discussed in this thread already, but, Dominicans are famous for saying, Oye, mi manos, como e' tan pa' lla. Ta' jevi.

Aqui = Here
Aca would be used in a sentence, when you are asking if something is near something else, and they tell you that it is closer to you.
In other words, you are in Puerto Plata, and you want to know where Sosua is, and you ask if it is near Cabarete, they would tell you, "mas por aca".
Alli = There.
Alla = There, but farther.

The link works perfectly and explains it a bit better than my kindergarten Spanish.

when I hear someone tell someone else or an family pet to COME HERE

they have used bein( pronounced) aca mostly...but have sometimes used bein aqui...it probably is venga or somethign similar

alli and alla....seem to be easier and more straight forward to use.
