I need help translating the concept of "strokin" for my Colombian amiga.

Here's the story......

My friend has been telling me for months how she misses life in the the campo. So I invited her on a road trip to visit some family members who live in the Deep South.

Anyways we made our rounds from house to house and finally decided to eat at my great-aunts Susie's home. My friend told my aunt (in her limited english) how she admired her 50+year marriage and wanted to know the secret .

My 80+ year old, EXTREMELY MODEST auntie began one of her "Picture it... Sicily 1945 style stories" about love, respect, and honor....yada yada yada. All the stuff I heard as a child.

It was what auntie said at the end that had the entire room silent and later rolling on the floor in laughter from shock.

Auntie S replied, "Finally sweetie you need to know how to Stroke a man's ego....among Other Things to keep him coming back for more"

All the women in the room forcefully replied " You never taught me That."

I felt bad because I just could not begin to translate this statement the way auntie meant it.

One aspect might be "aprovecharse de su machismo" because the result of taking advantage of his ego (sense of manhood) has those results.
I'm sure there are other opinions out there, though.
