Default La Palabra "Atrevido" en RD

So I've heard that the word atrevido has 2 meanings, depending on where you are: (1)insolent or (2)daring. What does it mean in DR? If it means insolent, then how would you say: You've got guts/ You're brave/ You're daring?
THANKS

This adjective means the same in the DR: Bold, risks taking, daring.
You have got guts:
1. Eres atrevido/bravo (informal)
2. Usted es atrevido. (formal)
3. Here is a Dominican expression I do not like: "Tú tienes cojones."

The word "atrevido" is used often to imply lack of respect. If a child talks back at his/her parents, that child is atrevido/a. That child may also be called: "Falta de respeto" and in this case the entire expression is used as a noun.

Insolente: A very negative term, used to refer to those who use offensive, insulting words (or actions).

Here to help and learn,
Norma
