Frog's Armpit

I hear there is an idiom - a saying - in Spanish that refers to being poor or financially destitute.


In English, we use "poor as a church mouse", "not a pot to p*ss in", "so poor I can't pay attention", and numerous others.

I read that the equivalent saying in Spanish translates into "Cleaner than a frog's armpit".


Anyone ever heard of it?
How do you say it? (Just for for conversational purposes, of course.... not that any of us need to use it for a free cerveza)

I've never heard it but it would probably go like this:

"Estoy mas limpio que el sobaco de una rana"

What I hear all the time is "Estoy pelado" or "Ni tengo un chele".

'Más pelao que sobaco de rana'-

-used to refer to a person or when a person has no money.
