Help to get to Samana from SDQ?

Our plane arrives at 4:15 PM and it looks like the buses and connector (Aerodomco) flights end at four PM. What is quick or cheap way to get there? Taxi? (how much?) Or rent a car? And if rent, any good places to get driving directions to Las Galeras, Samana? THANK YOU

A private taxi is your best bet with a late arrival such as yours. You do not want to try and drive across the island at night. Its confusing enough in the daytime and total insanity at night. Current price for a taxi from the airport to Samana is around $170usd with Las Galeras being a little more.

We normally advise any of our guests that arrive late like yourself to either have a private taxi waiting at the airport or spend the night in Santo Domingo and catch the bus the next day. Your hotel should be able to organize the taxi pick-up for you.

Apolo taxi charges 4,200 RD pesos from SDQ to Las Galeras, Samana, around 150 US dollars, comfortable car, A/C. Around 185 dollars for a van.

Most probably if you don't arrange it before getting there, an airport taxi will charge you more.
