Default Driving directions from santiago to Las Terrenas

I will be flying into Cibao Airport in a few weeks. Does anyone know the best direct route to arrive in Samaba Peninsula (Las Terrenas)? What highways/roads? Please help

Santiago to Puerto Plata then coastal road (Highway 5) to Sanchez...then left turn straight in to Las Terrenas.

Default Shorter route

Since the Cibao Airport is south of Santiago you would be much better off heading south on the Autopisto Duarte for about 20 miles and take the exit for San Francisco de Marcoris, from there take the road to Nagua and then on to Las Terrenas. Should save you at least an hour and one half compared to the drive through Santiago and Puerto Plata.

GOLFER is certainly correct. My question is why bother driving when there are direct buses that go to Las Terrenas twice a day?

I can understand if you get in after 12:00 noon. The directions to Las Terrenas are accurate. And signage is getting a little better.

Let me know if you need -- more extensive--more info on the route.
