Hello everyone. I have a quick question: Lonely planet claims that Caribe Tours takes about 2hrs 45mins from Santo Domingo to Samana, but I find that superquick. Do you have any reaction? (In particular, I am interetesed in a Saturday afternoon.)
Cheers.
Caribe Tours has buses leaving at 1:30, 2:30 and 4:00. I'd say figure a good 4 hours, but it is been awhile since I have taken that bus so the time figures you get from Andy B or others living in Samana will be the accurate ones. But for sure it will take longer than 2.75 hours. They must think new highway is open for business.
I recently used Caribe tours from Santo Domingo to Samana. I left on the 1:00 and arrived at 6:30. there is a 15 min break in San Frisco de Macorís. Its a long bus ride, but the scenery is amazing.
Talking of 630, is it already dark at that time at the beginning of March? (As for taking any more complicated combination of buses, I will do all I can to avoid.)
From Santo Domingo to Samana is a 4 hrs and 15 minutes run including a 15 minute stop in SFM. Their schedule is so accurate that you can almost set your watch by it. There is no non stop run from Sto Dgo to Samana that I am aware of.
