Question How far from Bavaro to Santo Domingo?

Just wondering how long the trip is. My friend and I will be heading to the Capital Sunday night around 6 after arriving PUJ at noon. Hoping not to be too tired to enjoy an evening out...

About 3 1/2 hours by car.
Hope you are NOT planning on driving yourself! Lots of construction and traffic especially on Sat night.
Do you plan on returning to Bavaro the same evening??????

Yeah, driving at nightfall on these roads, even though the highway in stretches is quite good, is not recommended if you are not familiar with the route and the various obstacles along the way. The Pres of Falconbridge just died in a motor accident on his way to the capital because he was not used to driving himself and didnt know the route. Remember, highways here are not illuminated. I mean you should be OK, but just bear in mind that driving here is a little tricky.

No, I am not driving, we are going with a Dominican man who is familiar with the area...and we are returning the next day...no worries. I just didn't ask him how long the trip was. I plan to enjoy my vacation, not spend it in a trauma center! (My friend and I are ER/trauma RNs...no desire to check out the local health care!!!)

Good....because there are NO trauma centers here......
Worse yet the hospitals mainly look like something out of a '50s movie LA street clinic scene.......High tech doesn't exist (there aren't even that many ambulances come to think of it!).
Keep in mind Sunday night is when all the drunks who've been drinking all weekend head home from the beaches (meaning Bavaro,Punta Cana, La Romana, San Pedro, Juan Dolio, Guayacanes and Boca Chica)
You will bypass some of these towns once you reach San Pedro but you'll also be on the road through most of them.
Have fun.....
