Ok! Thanks for your assistance!
As for the comment about Mexicans, I don't know anything about the U.S./Mexican border but it comes as a surprise that Mexicans don't use buses. I know a lot of Haitians do and I know there are quite a few Haitians going by bus to and from Santo Domingo. So I figured there would be buses from POP as well. Anyway...

Ok, so my point was that the US and Mexico are two different countries requiring a visa to enter one another. My guess would be that 90% of the Mexicans in the US do not have visas. Hence they are illegal immigrants; hence they can not take a bus through the boarder and customs.

I suspect the percentage of Haitians living in the DR is about the same (90% illegal immigrants.) Once the sneak across the boarder they're not about to go back.

...which out of an estimated 1 million Haitians in the DR would leave about 100 000 "legal" ones who, just like "legal" Mexicans in the U.S., might like to travel home by bus.

What do I know... Nevermind.

Have it your way, nobody really has the numbers. I guess that's why there so many busses going between the two!

I will start up a direct line starting next month and make a lot of money. Let me know what day you want to go and I'll give you a 5% discount.
