Default Boca Chica to Punta Cana

I am renting a car and driving to Punta Cana for a few nights. Two things; 1) What is the easiest/best way to get to Occidental Grand Flamenco Resort from Boca Chica (Hamaca area) and also 2) safety is important, I am having my Dominican friend drive, is this better? How important is it for him to have his license? (keep in mind, it is a rental car).

Thanks in advance for the help!

I think you know the answer to your second question already....since you are liable for anything that happens to your rental car if it is rented in your name (I am guessing), why would you let an unlicensed driver drive a car that is your responsibilty in ANY country???
It is pretty mucha straight road all the way through Juan Dolio, San Pedro, La Romana, Bayahibe and then follow the road signs to Bavaro once you reach Higuey. Wouldnt your Dominican "friend" know the way?
I would recommend taking the bus, save yourself the hassle and the $$$!

Not important for him. ("No tengo la culpa.")

As a gringa (?) and responsible for the car any arising problem will be yours.

Renting a car = Recipe for disaster!

For peace of mind, hire a car and driver and enjoy the trip.

If you need a bargain, tell him you wanna pay less!

or negotiate with a BC taxi.

Take route 3# east till it ends it will become rt#4 turn left..Go north on rt#4 for about.15km.you will be in Higuey..Look for signs for Punta Cana you should be heading east at this point..Its another 40+ Km from Higuey...

Good Luck You are going to need it...With an unlicensed driver I don't care what nationality he is you are looking for problems...Do you want to see the inside of a Dominican jail??? Or just Punta Cana...You keep in mind it's a rental not us...Why not drink a few Presidentes along the way while your at it....
