Default Directions to Jarabacoa

From Santo Domingo, take the main highway toward Santiago. In about 90 minutes to 2 hours you will be approaching La Vega. Take the second La Vega exit (it is the La Vega/Jarabacoa exit). That exit will bring you under the highway by bearing left. In front and to the right should be a gas station ( if not, you took the wrong exit). Keep going straight on that road, keeping the gas station to your right, and it will lead you into Jarabacoa in about 20 to 30 minutes. Use caution on those hilly sections, especially when trying to pass. My guess is that total trip time is about 2 and a half hours.

Yes, those directions exactly except it takes more like 1 1/2 hours for the entire trip. The sign off the main highway for Jarabacoa is small so be on the lookout for it. Like windeguy said, you turn right off the highway there and then go left under the highway and then straight at the light (gas station on right) and then up the mountain. To get to the main highway going out of Santo Domingo (called autopiso Duarte), simply get on John F Kennedy and take it north. Avoid doing this during rush hour or it may take a while to get out of the city.
