Default local transport from Samana to Punta Cana

Hi,
What is the best local transport from Samana to Punta Cana - bus/local transport? Also, how long does it take?

maybe Samana - Sabana de La Mar ( ferry),
Sabana de La Mar - Miches (bus),
Miches - Higuey (bus),
Higuey - Punta Cana (bus)

Whether there is more simple route?

Unfortunately, regular flights are not present:
Capt. Thomas Karrer - Takeoff Destination Service S.A.:
"I am not sure yet if we will have a regular flight the 20 th of December out
of Samana."

Thanks,

Alexyss

Very few options from Sabana de la Mar and the transporters know that too $$$$.
I chartered a guagua from Sabana over Miches, Higuey to Cortecito (Bavaro).
It took a great 3 hours, most of the time through beautiful scenery.
If you are going to wait for public guaguas to do that route, it might take you more than half a day.
Other option when you arrive at Sabana is to take the public guagua to Santo Domingo and drop off at San Pedro. There you take the bus to Punta Cana.

Or, you could catch a guagua in Miches to El Seibo (45km ride over the mountain), then catch a bus here in El Seibo at the Higuey bus station and take that bus to Higuey (47 km).

Just a thought.

A lot of individual tourists traveling from Punta Cana or Bayahibe to Sabana de la Mar (Samana) do this trip with interruption. They make a one or two night stop on the beach of Playa Limon. This is near the small village El Cedro, half way from Sabana de la Mar - Miches - Punta Cana. The same is coming from Samana and going to Bavaro.

Playa Limon, you have 15 posts and almost all of them are promotion for your hotel. Please refrain from posting promotions in the threads. If you want to advertise your hotel, use the advertising section of DR1. You have been warned.

To give informations about a place, a city, a region or a singular business in each way can be interpreted like promotion - ok, I have a small hotel with 6 rooms, but the main reason for I am writing sometimes posts is the fact that I am living in the region of Miches - unmentioned by most tourist guidebooks, unknown from most of the Dominicans, ignored from basic education systems and left from public services. In my personal opinion the region around Miches have the most beautiful and amazing natural attractive s from the Dominican east coast and its possible from all the Caribbean. There you can find immense s beaches boarded by coco palms, the two lagoons Limon and Redonda, mountains, rivers, and waterfalls in a distance of 20 minutes one to the other. There you can enjoy all the splendor and pleasure of pure Caribbean flair for to disconnect a moment from overwhelming city atmosphere.

Watch the video with the interview of prof. Don Melnick from the university of Columbia, New York - realized 2 month ago on the top of Montana Redonda - and create your own opinion: YouTube - Miches - The interview with Prof. Don Melnick

He isn't the moderator, but what he is saying is true, and apparently the moderators of some forums here have been "asleep at the wheel", which is actually quite unusual. Giving information/advice about places to stay is one of the purposes for these forums, but when it is coming from the owner of the hotel, over and over, and the only information that person is supplying is to direct people toward his place of business, this is called SPAM. For an outstanding example of a business owner who has thousands of posts, steadfastly refuses to promote his own business in these forums, and has in the long run benefited from the good will this generous spirit has engendered, look no further than ROCKEY.

Post Publicity for Miches - the last undeveloped caribbean paradise

In Miches you can find in few distance a singular concentration of natural beauty and attractive places like nowhere else in the Dominican Republic and I think nowhere else in all the Caribbean. Having all this amazing places, Miches today is undeveloped and far away from common tourist streams. Some individual tourist going or coming from Samana or people who like to explore this last Caribbean paradise cannot choose between various different places for to stay and too it’s a little bit difficult for them to find adequate information’s.
In this moment the limited offer of hotels with normal standard are one Hotel on the hill in the city of Miches with 9 rooms, the 8 Cabanas on the public beach from Miches and near the small village El Cedro one hotel with 6 rooms and one with 4 rooms and 6 cabanas. Calculate, these are 33 units in all the region of Miches – with 70 tourists the region of Miches is overbooked!!!

And if there is a problem for somebody that I am the owner of one of these hotels – I don’t shame for this, I am proud to be one of the challengers in this beautiful region!
