Default Travel Distances and Best Means

Looking at going from Boca Chica to either a resort in Juan Dolio or Bayahible. Is one area better that the other or does it all depend on the resort you stay in ? Secondly, how long does it take to get from Boca Chica to Juan Dolio or Bayahibe ? and by what means ... bus or taxi and approximate cost for 2

Thanks

Juan Dolio's just a hop, skip and a jump from Boca Chica, so public transport would be easy and cheap, and a taxi wouldn't cost a fortune either, whereas Bayahibe is a fair distance, and may be a bit more complicated to get to with public transport, and a taxi might cost 100 bux, but that's just a guess.

Thanks Rocky for the travel info . Which is the better of the 2 places to go to: Juan Dolio or Bayahibe ? or is it resort dependant ?

Do you know of any of the resorts in these 2 places to stay away from?

It's my understanding that Bayahibe is really really nice.
Haven't been there in this century.
Better to wait for someone with more recent info.

Bayahibe about 1.5 hours from BC. Bus to San Pedro, bus to La Romana then bus to Bayahibe. All Inclusive hotels - good quality, great diving. Pretty little village, but can be a trek from hotels. Bit out of the way if you want to go anywhere. Juan Dolio, 10 mins from BC, one bus or cheap taxi. No really good hotels - Capella is supposed to be 5 star but more like 3. Lots of nice apts. Great beach, and you are in the centre of the town wherever you are. Bit of a construction site though. Depends what you want. relax, AI and great diving - Bayahibe; bit more in the centre of things with Ok accom but great beach - Juan Dolio
