Default Rte. 201 from Pierda Blanca to Rte. 2 West of Bani

I see on a map a road, Rte. 201, from Piedra Blanca on Autopista Duarte to Cruce de Ocoa on Rte. 2 west of Bani. It goes through Juan Adrian, Rancho Arriba, Sabana Larga and San Jose de Ocoa, effectively bypassing Santo Domingo to the west.

I'd like some info about this road, it's condition, problems, assets, scenic beauty, twists and turns, things to see, things to avoid, etc.

Any input would is most appreciated.

Thanks!

A good friend of mine has taken that road several times. His wife is from Ocoa.
However, the last time was before the rains. Let me ask him. Hold on a sec.

Last report is that "they have fixed it so you can get to Ocoa. You have to use 4X4."

Hmmmm...but not all the way through, it sounds. If it's a 4x4 trip, I assume it's not paved...
