Default Do Not Travel On This Road
I made the trip from Santo Domingo to Samana in December, 2007 believing all the stories about this road being almost complete. We drove a 4WD Toyota Tundra. IT WAS A DRIVE FROM HELL. This road is far from being complete. It has 2 to 3 more years to go. We almost fell into the Yuna river going through a very narrow passage way. DO NOT DO IT. We did not save any time. It took us 5 1/2 hours to make the trip. If anything happens to your vehicle, you are up a creek.

Sounds like good advice from Cherie36, " Do Not Travel On This Road " best you go the long way or fly.
