A taxi ride to the Childrens International offices is 100 pesos. FTI.

That would be great! The Field Office for Children's International is making arrangements for a guide/translator to visit their facilities as well as planning the visit with the 2 kids. I have no idea what is involved with this but I've been told that I can arrange to take the family and the Children's International guide out for shopping/dining etc. It would be nice if I knew where to go for shopping/dining etc.

Hey I am going up to Puerto Plata in Dec. I got a hotel that is in cabarete and it supposed to be 20 minutes from the airport. However, the only flight I could get out is thur Sanitago, does anyone know of a reasonable safe service that will take me to the airport without breaking my wallet or getting my head broke P

You can grab a taxi after exiting the main terminal, which will take you direct to Cabarete in 1 hour and 15 minutes.(The route they take is absolutely beautiful, You'll love it)
The cost should be $80 or $90 US.
If you would like to have a cab waiting for you with a preferred driver, contact Bachata. DR1 Dominican Republic Forums
If you find it too expensive, you can grab a cab into Santiago, then take a Caribe Tours bus to Sosua, then another cab to Cabarete.
That would take you more than double the time, but it would save you $40 or $50.
Most people are a bit too tired and inconvenienced by the air travel getting here, to be willing to embark on the public transport adventure, just to save a few bux.

You are correct.
Thank you for pointing that out.

In that case, the folks most recommended for transport out of Cabarete, are "Tourism" Taxi Sosua – Cabarete - Dominican Republic

Default Directions to Santiago

Do you also have detailed directions from Santo Domingo Airport to Santiago? I will have a car at the airport.
