Default samana - jarabacoa: how to do it?

Hi guys!
I am going from Samana to Jarabacoa next August for a couple of days of excursions to the waterfalls and after that I will reach SD. I need the following infos:
1. is there any public transport (no taxi, I guess too expensive) way to reach Jarabacoa leaving from samana? how long does it take to go there?
2. I read about the new highway from samana to SD. May it be an option going first to SD (1h and half -but is there a bus company driving that new road???) and from then take the Caribetours to Jarabacoa? Of course, not in the same day, but after two or three days of relax in the capital...

Take Caribe Tours bus Samana - Santo Domingo.

Get off in La Vega (Caribe tours does not get all the way into the city, they have a terminal on the outskirts).

Take a motoconcho (or taxi if you travel heavy) and go to Jarabacoa bus terminal. They use small minivans to go to Jarabacoa.

I think I would vary this a bit. Take one of the smaller buses to Santiago or La Vega. Then you can get a motoconcho to the Jarabacoa bus stop.

Are you sure a bus from Samana to Santo Domingo stops in La Vega? Doesn't make a lot of sense as you'd be coming from San Francisco de Macoris through Controba to get to Autopista Duarte so goint to La Vega you'd be going the opposite way.

I would think you'd have to stay in Rincon or Autopista Duarte by Bonao.

Take Caribe tours from Samana to San Francisco De Macoris, take a Car publico(not a taxi nor a GuaGua) to La Vega( tell the driver to take you to Quinto Patio) This is where you catch the Car Publico or minibus to Jarabacoa( less than 100 pesos). The driver will take you almost anywhere in Jarabacoa. If you get off at the Caribe bus station in Jarabacoa a taxi to anywhere within Jarabacoa will cost you no more than 100 pesos.

I also need to make this same journey. thank you for the helpful hints. any idea of the time involved to reach the destination (approximate, since there seem to be many options)? I would also be interested to hear from the OP about the experience. Thanks!

You are right, La vega is no on the way, he need to cath a " voladora " between Samana and Santiago and make some arrangemants with the guagua's pitcher to dropp him off in front of < la Vega agriculture school > it is located where Jarabacoa road split to Autopista Duarte. and walk to the Texaco gas station where usually are guaguas making turns to go to Jarabacoa.
