Las Terrenas to Sosua or Santiago

Hi guys,
staying for my third time in Las Terrenas by friend's house.
Would like to look around for some days, wondering about Sosua or Santiago.
Which is the best way to get to these two cities?

There are buses leaving from near the wharf six time a day for Santiago. Just ask anyone there. There are also guaguas to Sanchez and from Sanchez to Puerto Plata...

This must be a joke or something, I mean STI to POP is a 1 hour drive.

I had some friends that tried that a few years ago...funny thing, they are still on the way, sort of splattered all over one of the mountains...
