Directions-Las Americas Airport to Cabrera

Can anyone give me detailed directions from the airport in Santo Domingo to the town of Cabrera. I am told there is a new highway, but I don't see it on the Google map. Does it have another name? How long should the trip take? and is the driving any safer on the new highway than what I've read in the previous blogs about driving in DR. Unfortunately, we will be staying in a private villa and cannot use a cab everytime we leave the villa. Thank you for your help.

Go to SEARCH in this forum, there are some posts with pretty detailed explanations... Sorry but can't tell you where to look explicitly.

The new hwy itself is a great drive but avoid it at night, not a lot of lights and some wildlife wandering around. At the end of the hwy you will want to turn left, direction Nagua - in Nagua there are signs for Cabrera and Rio San Juan that will be veering you right, from there it's pretty straight forward. Again,, Do this in daylight, much less stressful !!. Enjoy
