La Romana/Boca Chica - help!
 

Hi everyone,

I am flying to La Romana from Paris on Monday, arriving at 2pm.
I wanted to spend my week vacation in Boca Chica, as I heard its the nicest beach in the south DR coast.

Do you know what's the best (meaning cheap and convenient) way to go to Boca Chica from La Romana airport on monday afternoon?

I have been quoted US$150 for a taxi transfer, and I find that too expensive for a student budget!

The above is an address for a reputable taxi driver. I think the rate should be about $75.00. He quoted me $85 from Santo Domingo to Bayahibe which is a little farther than you are going.

There are buses that run from La Romana to Boca Chica. They are very inexpensive....If you ask around at the airport you can find out about them. There might be someone on the plane that is going to BC and you can get a ride with them...

Lots of variables, but you can ask at the airport, and never take the first price!!...Dominicans don't pay dollars to get there. You could probably get a local taxi to the bus stop for about 50 pesos, and maybe that much for the bus trip to Boca Chica. All told about 6 dollars..

Yes, that is correct. That transfer cost US$75.00 dollars for the trip each way.
