Default Commercial banana plantations

Can anyone tell me where most of the islands banana crop is grown. Am I correct in thinking that the Azua area is a major contributor. I would particullarly like information on the production of organic bananas.
Hope someone can help
Regards.
George.

While Azua is a producer since the late Trujillo times, the major production area is the land around the Yaque River in the Northwest.
The production centers are Mao, Guayubin and MonteCristi.

You might try and contact: r.farms@codetel.net.do for information on organic bananas.
