My recent trip to D.R.

Just got back Saturday (25th May) from a two week stay at Paradise Beach Club. To summarize my trip - Casino was a big rip, Disco was "crawling" with Sankies, had my very first "cat fight" , didn't get my wake-up call Saturday - almost missed my flight....other than that:

Had a great time and would definitely go again!

wow, sounds difficult... give us some of the highlights, that trip report was too depressing!

I only stated the negatives to make a point of, after all the low points of my trip, I had an excellent time!

As a true Canadian I even got to watch plenty of playoff hockey at Hemingways....

Go Leafs Go, "a?"!!!!

Also noted a lot (overstated since its low travel season) of Americans on my last week there (mostly from NY) and Canucks.

Definitely would not travel sola next time....I lost count how many D.R. men have asked me: "Are you alone? Can I take you to Puerto Plata? Ride my scooter?"

I declined - but should I have???

I was wondering what Sankies are? Me and 2 of my friends are going to be staying at this resort the last week in august....and I'm hoping sankies aren't kookarachas???? Any other info you have about the hotel/bars/things to do would be super!
