Punta Cana Resort for 30 yr old, single females???

Hi,

My friend wants to go to Punta Cana over the 4th of July weekend for 4 or 5 days with one or 2 other friends....they are all 30, single and female. She asked me where I would recommend they stay b/c I was just there in April. My boyfriend and I stayed at the Occidental Flamenco...I wouldn't recommend she stay there b/c we felt it was too big (over 800 rooms...resort was booked completely and it was just very crowded) and the food really wasn't that great.

So I am looking for some suggestions on where they should look into staying. They want to do all inclusive and they are looking for a place with other single people their age...they basically just want to enjoy the beach during the day and go out and have a good time at night.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

For singles, we usually recommend the Barcelo property, precisely because it is big enough that there may be other singles. Most of the Punta Cana hotels are couples or family-oriented. Barcelo Bavaro has about 2,000 hotel rooms among its five hotels and so the singles get to meet while visiting the different hotels that are part of the complex, and they also get to meet in the disco that is shared by all the Barcelo hotels.

Some of the hotels are more full than the others, so it is important to know you can have meals at the less popular of these hotels.

We (Two 30's women) went to Coral Hamaca in Boca Chica and vastly enjoyed it. It has ALL the ammenities of the huge PC area, but allows you to mingle with locals for a sense of exciting nightlife
