Question Cabarete for 2 single women

My friend and I are going to Caberete at the end of July. We don't really want to stay at an all inclusive and found Villa Taina and Hotel El Magnifico through some windsurf web sites. Anyone know about these two places? Would El Magnifico be too far from town to walk back at night? Is one place more fun than another (for 2 single women age 30 - like not full of honeymooners or children!)

We'll be there for 9 days and want to explore other towns and do a lot of outdoor activities. Any suggestions are very welcome - thanks!

greetings,
i would definately reccomend hotel villa taina, el magnifico is too far down the beach to walk after dark. also, the beach is quite desolate in front and not advisable to swim there, there are strong undercurrents. villa taina is right in the middle of all the action, you will have a fantastic time! enjoy!

Default Info on Villa Taina - thanks!

Lucy-
Thanks for your advice about Villa Taina and El Magnifico. I'm glad you mentioned about the beach in front of El Mag. It totally helps to get info from someone who's been there!

hi again!
you may want to also check out palm beach condos, they are right beside vila taina, in my opinion, the nicest place to stay in cabarete!

Cool Villa Taina / Palm Beach Condos

I think we've narrowed it down to 2 choices, Villa Taina or Palm Beach Condos.
Anything in particular that makes PBC much better than VT ?

Thanks again!

Wink condo choices etc.

PBC and VT are both good choices. You will be in the heart of Cabarete--however once you become acquainted with Presidente beer and the great rum selection, you will then become aware of the liver of Cabarete.

Don't overdo it and don't miss the shrimp in the copper saute pans at that great beachfront restaurante of the Swiss master chef.

Also, because the Dominicans are so wonderful, bring some small gifts of first rate candy and a few baseballs--candy for the resort staff and baseballs for the kids on the beach who will want to shine your shoes.

Enjoy, but resist the inevitable urges to drive motorbikes while toasted. then you can come back again.

Wink

I'll take your advice about the motorbikes and also try to return with a somewhat healthy liver!

Thanks for all your suggestions. I'm planning on bringing some gifts and baseball stuff for the locals.
Now, just another month and we'll be there!
