Default tourist cars changes?

Hi, I read that a tourist card is valid for 3 months, buy I called yesterday to "oficina de turismo" in santo domingo and was told that when entering you can select up to six months. is this a "new model" of tourist card?

the one I have is small and have no indications about the maximum period allowed, only the arrival date.

regards

Default I wouldn't sweat it

They are pretty lax about those things, as long as you are not working....

Lax, but they still make you pay something at the airport upon leaving if your card has expired. Unless it gets "lost", that is. And you can produce a few tears.

Talking You will be forced to pay a huge fine if you stay over your tourist visa time limit!!

Gee Jane thanks for the good information! I left after being here for 11 months and was heavily fined at the Las Americas Airport! It was 63 pesos!!!!!!!,and I had to do the math!Las year I paid 85 pesos, the year before that I paid nothing after 13 months. So watch out,and save at least 100 pesos to pay your "Fine"!Crisco
