English newspaper - DR1 is the closest thing.
English radio stations - No. But you'll love merengue or learn to love it.
Cheap seafood restaurants - Sure, if you speak Spanish and get away from the tourist traps.
Lobsters are of the Caribbean "spiney" variety
12 pack of beer - US$12 in the supermarkets.
Yes, bring your own fishing gear.
Camping - Not advisable except in the National Parks
Fresh water fishing - Yes, but outside of the tourist areas. It may be worth your while to hire a guide.

Default English Newspaper

Does the DR1 publish an English Newspaper with ads and everything or is it just on internet?

Any local english newspapers in Santo Domingo?

Thanks,

Harmony

Harmony, answer is "no". One of the owners of dr1 used to publish the Santo Domingo News and Puerto Plata News, both weeklies in English. But those paper are no more and dr1 takes its place. The advantage is that dr1 reaches an international audience while the papers were only available to those who were where they were distributed at the time they were distributed.
