Flamenco Punta Cana - Any changes??

I stayed at the Gran Flamenco in Punta Cana last November 2001 and thought it was a great resort. Great food, service and atmosphere. It was wonderful! We were planning on returning again this November but I have been reading some bad reviews lately on this resort. Does anyone know why the change? We have been to the Dominican Republic 4 times, loved every resort we went to, and thought the Flamenco was the best yet. Maybe we should try somewhere else??

I stayed for two weeks in June at this resort and twice last year. I did not encounter anything different, if anything better service because the hotel was not extremely busy. Plan to go back in November.
