Question Air Canada

Greetings!

Has anyone out there planned a trip to DR using a Air Canada travel agent?

We HAVE to book using an Air Canada travel agent and we are looking for some feed back both positive and negative.

Your thoughts?

Hi girls. Maybe you mean that if you want to go with Air Canada you need to go through a "travel agency" that deals with Air Canada. Air Transat is a charter and cheaper. Look up the best deal on line then call a Travel Agent near you. What Province are you from again?

Default Stuck with Air Canada

Hi!

We are from Alberta and we have to go through an Air Canada travel agent because we have travel vouchers with them.

Air Canada does have AI vacation planning to many destinations through a Air Canada travel agent, but so far they have been less than helpful. Lucky for us we found this forum…we do realize that we are limited in our options by using Air Canada but we can’t go wrong when the travel vouchers were a free gift!

We are just looking for some feed back from someone else who may have some experience with Air Canada AI vacations.

Cheers,
S, D & P

they are really all the same ,so you will be fine with air canada vacations.I would check with a travel agent and compare prices ,even a few hundred dollars off on a voucher ,you might still be paying more then going with, conquest, albatours etc...Like i said all these travel companies are the same so go for best price....

you can take your A-C vouchers to any travel agency in Alberta and they will process them, you do not have to deal directly with AirCanada.

the downside to your situation: AirCanada flights from Calagary are limited so your choice of resorts has been reduced somewhat. as for booking a hotel you have 2 options. you can choose one that AirCanada Vacations offers or you can book through Red Seal Vacations. the second choice prices' are land only(no airfare) and by the day, so that if you are adventuresome you could get to see more of the island.

and what john says is true, service and reliability are not significantly different from one charter company to another. the only measurable difference is in the airline they use/own to service their destinations.

Talking BIG Thanks!

Your replies are Much appreciated!

Air Canada told us that we have to use an Air Canada travel agent, but we are going to look into that further as the information provided by you is different.

We will using the vouchers because they are for a significant amount (they will pay for more than one round trip to DR) so it is VERY worth our efforts and sacrifices for our first trip there! But don’t worry…we are not going to coup ourselves up in a AI the whole trip…..we want to do a few things other than drink and tan!

Thanks again to ALL who helped! We will be sure to ‘announce’ when we FINALLY get to book our trip…..hopefully within this month! Woohoo…..look out DR…here we come!

Mmmmuuuuaaaaahhhhh!

Thanks to Johnny and John!

The good thing about our vacation is we don’t have a set date in mind…so we are more flexible with dates…in fact we are not even limited to a certain month…so booking shouldn’t be too bad. We do want to go with AI….just for the convenience of it. Thanks again for your replies! It is great to get feedback from others!

May the force be with you!
