I just returned from Sosua and looked at a few condo's and apt's for sale through REMAX and a couple other real estate agencies. I found several modest places for 19,000- 25,000US. Nothing fancy but clean and nice. What are taxes like??? I figured it would be worth the small price for someone who plans to visit 3-4 times a year and retire there one day. Any info? is there anything i should know???
More important than taxes is to find out what the monthly maintenance fee is and what it includes. You should also find out if you get 24-hour electricity and an assured water supply. Besides the real estate agent you are dealing with, you should also talk with the condo administrator. Additionally, I'd talk with a resident or two to get their thoughts on living there.
