Default how to arrive/visit National Parks/archaeologic places

Guides say it is not so difficult to reach by bus the Oviedo and Enriquillo Lakes, since buses stop off ranger station. Is it true? Are they frequent? Are there usually enough people waiting, so that 2 people don't have to pay for the whole boat?
What about Saona island? Is it worth and doable with local people (fishers...) or do you have to go with a tour? BTW, how do you arrive independently to Altos de Chavon? It seems there are free buses in Casa de Campo, but how do you do to arrive there and go into Casa de Campo?
Regarding archaelogical places, I think there is one near S. Cristóbal and another one after Azua, in the route to Elias Piña, don't know where exactly. Are they easy to reach? Are they worth the trip?

What is your starting point? Sto Domingo or any other place.
From Sto Domingo take the buss to Azua and then a bus to Pedernales. How frequent these busses drive I do not know.
May be take a buss to Barahona and than a quagga to Pedernales.
It depends on the situation how many people are waiting for the boat but my experience is no many people and not every day.
But the warden (El Capitan) is if you ask him and give him some 100 pesos for petrol and a fee willing to handle the boat and make a trip.
You speak Spanish? It is necessary.
I recommend to hire a car and than go to Barahona and in any hotel ask for Julio Feliz, a well known guide.
If you go on your own you will miss a lot of things.
