Yes, he is 100% out of business, at least in the Cabarete area. He left behind many worthless checks and many heavy debts associated with his "Amigos Resort" experiment. I know many people who would aboslutely love for him to make an appearance.

Thats true. How can ppl can just fly out of the country, leaving a mess behind.

I could be TOTALLY wrong (yet again I hear you cry) but I thought I had read of this man's demise. Wasn't it written here on DR1 notice board about a year ago?? Or am I getting mixed up with someone else??

I heard Ray left late last year after the demise of a hotel he was running in Caberete.

It's a shame, he's a nice guy, just not cut out to run a hotel.
He worked hard at trying to promote it, but when you have very
few tourists and lots of expenses, the numbers just don't add up.

Mr. Modesto is gone and hidding somewhere. He started to manage the AMIGO HOTEL (formally LAS PALMAS) in Cabarete but he did not make it. Well, to be fair to him, even if he has been unfair with many people, he IS NOT AT ALL a business person.

To respond the initial posting, Mr. MODESTO is out of business for a long time ... Stay away from him ... He left such a mess in the North Coast that it is pathetic !
