MK sure it was the same guy ,about 100yrds down from the boat ramp. We got chairs from him every day we were at the beach.

Wendy $$$$$$ sure can mess people up lol thats why it's not really the losing of the money that bothers us but the lack of caring especially as they rely on tourism. One thing i did learn though was next time i will only give a deposit and not pay all up front till i'm on the tour lol.
And if any one was wondering we have sent this link to ELTOUR.

We booked three tours through Coco Tours: Puerta Plata & Sosua shopping, Paradise Island and the Outback through Riu Bachata resort. Our friends, who were staying at Playa Dorada found a company who gave the same tours at a cheaper rate. We cancelled two tours with Coco Tours, and they were excellent about it. They gave a full refund with no problem whatsoever. In two weeks at DR we met only fair, reasonable, friendly people. Everyone far exceeded our expectations, and we can hardly wait to go back!! Sometimes you have to take the bad to get to the good .... Paradise Island (and the snorkeling there), in my opinion, is worth a 5 hour bus ride ... Heck, it's worth a 10 hour bus ride!!! If I could reach Paradise Island by a 10 hour bus ride from my home, I'd be there every weekend! It's all in how you view things. Sounds like El Tour is one outfit to avoid, however it would be interesting to hear their side of the story.
Give DR another chance ... it deserves it, and if you meet nobody other than Hillbilly while you are there, then you'll have met one of the best people on DR, so you'll be able to count yourself lucky!

Keith&Cris
Sounds like Coco Tours is a professional outfit.

I agree that the Paradise sland was great once we got there and I would highly recommend it. The snorkelling was great and the water was clear, even though we arrived there late in the afternoon when all the other tour groups were leaving. However we were only there for 2 1/2 hours so,....DON'T GO THERE WITH EL'TOURs.

I do disagree on one point. If you value your sanity, no where is worth travelling 5 hours on a bus with a 4 year old when you know you've got to get back on that bus in a couple of hours to get home!

As for hearing el'Tours side of the story. I sent them a link to this string, just in case they missed it. It would be great to hear them respond.
