Can anyone tell me how long a trip it is from Santo Domingo to Port-au-Prince by car.....Thanks.

Someone who has done it will probably reply, but I would estimate it is about a six and a half hours drive, not taking into consideration delays at the border. Note that you need to be 100 percent owner of the car to do it. You can't rent a car in the Dominican Republic to tour Haiti, nor can you travel in a car in which you still need to make payments to the bank for its purchase.

It has been mentioned the trip takes about six hours by bus. You can figure the rest. However, traveling by car has drawbacks, especially at the border, need proper documentation, insurance, bla,bla,bla,bla. Most advice about traveling into Haiti from the D.R. suggests using the buses = less hassle and more security. Regards, PJT
