Riu Merengue

Does anyone know the approximate taxi fare between Riu Merengue and the Playa Dorada complex? Riu Merengue and La Barrica or Orion? I'm considering staying at the Riu Merengue in June instead of at Playa Dorada, but I really don't want to be spending a lot on taxis every night to go out...

Also has anyone stayed there and at either Jack Tar Village or Paradise...any comparisons or thoughts? I'm concerned about being bored and there not being enough in terms of nightlife at the Riu Merengue...

What's the fitness centre like? Do they have free weights and machines?

i stayed there 3 years ago and quite frankly the hotel is fantastic,the food and entertainment is second to none.I didnt make use of the gym so cant comment-only down side is the water sports beach is one hell of a walk from the main swimming pools ect but is well worth the walk.

Im staying at casa marina reef in a couple of weeks time.

by the way dorada is about a 10 min taxi ride away and wont cost a lot although i dont know how much!!!
