Traveling in Dec and Jan

I will be traveling to the DR at the end of Dec or first week of Jan. I was wondering if there was any special events going on during that time. I know that Three Kings Days is around the 6th, correct? What other exciting things are happening? This will be my 5th trip to the DR and I just can't wait. I almost can't wait that long....but it's the best time for everyone to go.
